Hozeska, Eugene T., Bridgeport, Michigan

Passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at his home. Age 83 years. The son of the late Sebastian and Theresa (Schrems) Hozeska, Gene was born July 19, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married June M. McDougall on March 31, 1951. She predeceased him October 8, 1987. Gene then married Barbara J. Gulvas on December 7, 1990. She predeceased him April 29, 2007. He was employed at Delco Chassis as a mechanic until his retirement in 1994 and was a member of U.A.W. Local #537. Gene was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (St. Christopher Site) and a past member of St. George Catholic Church. Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Han Hozeska, Alma; a daughter, Linda Hozeska, Saginaw; six grandchildren, Jason (Laura) Hozeska, Ann Marie (Wayne) Solgot, Amanda (Joe) Hewy, Matthew, Timothy and Joshua Hozeska; two step-children, Katrina (Joey) Munger, Paul R. Skrzypczak; two step-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Peter Paul Skrzypczak; eight great-grandchildren, Mason, Alexis, Avery and Zachary Hozeska and Devon and Camden Solgot, Colton and Aria Hewy; four brothers and one sisters, Donald (Sandy) Hozeska, Robert (Nancy) Hozeska, Frank (Janet) Hozeska, Raymond Hozeska, Kay (Jim) Rusell; several nieces, nephews and special friends including Sister Dorena Gonzales. Gene was preceded in death by a son, Glen Hozeska, and by three sisters and one brother, Florence Hoffman, Joseph Hozeska, Barbara Tice and Alice Baldys. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church-St. Christopher Site, 3945 Williamson Road. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, O.S.F.S., will officiate. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens where military honors will be presented. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
