Headrick, George, James Township, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Age 85 years. George Lewis Headrick was born October 13, 1928 in Knoxville, TN to the late Elmer and Thelma (Laugherty) Headrick. He married Betty Falk March 21, 1953. She survives him. George served his country as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he was very active as a former elder and a member of the building committee. He was employed by General Motors as a machine repairman and retired in 1992 after 39 years. George enjoyed wood working, knife making, hunting, and fishing. He especially enjoyed making doll table sets for his granddaughters and great granddaughters. Surviving besides his wife he leaves his children; Victor (Edie) Headrick, Amie (Jim) Maher, and Kellie (Dave) Watson, nine grandchildren; Noah (Eve) Headrick and their children; Charis and Ezra, Ian (Miranda) Headrick and their children; Fiona and Monroe, Josiah Headrick, Miriam Headrick, Courtney (Ladinia) Davis and step great grandchildren; LaRissia, Lariah, and Lane Byrd, Christopher (Olga) Davis and their children; Dmitri and Milana, Michael Watson, Megan Watson, and Molly Watson, step grandchildren Ryan and Jessie Maher, and many other loving family members and friends. George was predeceased by his brother Jim Headrick. Pastor Joshua Becker will officiate the funeral service on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 8795 Ederer Road. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family welcomes friends to visit at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (S M-47) on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
