Hartl, Martha, Saginaw, MI, Formerly of Bridgeport, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at her home. Age 96 years. The daughter of the late John and Frances (Jurek) Czolgosz, Martha was born on May 1, 1918 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married William E. Hartl on September 8, 1945. He predeceased her January 6, 1991. Martha was a charter member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and remained a member thru the church’s transition to St. Francis de Sales on July 1, 2014. Surviving are two sons, two daughters and their spouses, William and Kristine Hartl, Saginaw; Robert and Marilynn Hartl, AuGres; Marcia and Steven Rousseau, Freeland; Sandra Hartl, Saginaw; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sr. Geraldine Czolgosz, O.P., Agnes (Richard) Brown and Ruth (Dennis) Dobleske; one sister-in-law, Marion Czolgosz; many nieces and nephews; Martha is also survived by her special friend and walking partner, Ruth Leach. Martha was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Frances Hartl; four brother and three sisters, Esther Czolgosz, Frank Czolgosz, Joseph Czolgosz, Thaddeus (Ted) Czolgosz, Jack Czolgosz, Joann Czolgosz and Florence Wahl; three sisters-in-law, Lorraine Czolgosz, Edna Czolgosz and Betty Czolgosz. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church-St. Christopher site, 3945 Williamson Road. Rev. Fr. William Taylor will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
