Beloved mother and grandmother made her final journey home to be with our Lord and to be with her beloved husband. She passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Age 79 years. The daughter of the late Eugene and Lena (Archambault) Dilloway, Frieda was born June 26, 1935 in Midland, Michigan. She married James C. Hammond on July 13, 1957 in Saginaw. He predeceased her April 25, 2008. Frieda was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Frieda was the eldest of eight children. She was a nurse at Saginaw General Hospital for many years. Frieda had a passion for crafts and turned her passion into a family owned ceramic business. She enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, music and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Frieda also had a special place in her heart for animals of all kinds. Surviving are four sons and two daughters, Dennis and Machelle, Grand Rapids; Jayme Lipscomb and Kevin King, Saginaw; David and Diane, Saginaw; Donald and Jennifer, Linden; Daniel Hammond and Melanie Knights, Zilwaukee; Janice Hammond and Wally Shaft, Freeland; ten grandchildren, Rebecca, Sarah, Andrew, Rhiannnon, William, Allanah, Kirsten, Allison, Paul and Bailey; two step-grandchildren, Joshua Shaft and Alicia (Lance) Wesolek; two step great-grandchildren, Peyton and Barrett. Frieda was preceded in death by her special brother, Raymond Dilloway. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. David Jenuwine will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at Holy Family Catholic Church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Family and friends will pray the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
