Hak, Leona Mildred, Saginaw, Michigan

Loving mother passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at Select Speciality Hospital. Age 78 years. The daughter of the late Leonard and Ruth Van Bocxlaer, Leona was born May 9, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Richard H. Hak on November 19, 1955. He predeceased her on June 22, 2003. Leona was employed by Sunshine Biscuit, Saginaw Saving and Loan and by Swan Valley School District. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and its choir. Leona was also a member of Michigan State Trust for Railway Preservation in Owosso. Leona was proud supporter of the Detroit Tigers and Redwings. She also loved her cats and dogs. Surviving are two daughters, Jodi Hak, Saginaw; Kathleen and Todd Fox, Midland; a sister, Betty (William) Valeck, Saginaw; a brother, Alvin (Joyce) Van Bocxlaer, Saginaw; a sister-in-law, Donna Van Bocxlaer, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. Leona was preceded in death by a brother, Erwin Van Bocxlaer and a sister-in-law, Janice Van Bocxlaer. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Select Specialty Staff members Diane and Robin and to extended family and friends for their loving compassionate care and support towards Leona. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, Saginaw. Pastor Wade Johnston will officiate. Private interment will take place following the services. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
