Haines, Anna Louise, Saginaw Township, Michigan


Suddenly went to her heavenly home on Monday, April 7, 2014 at the age of 89 years. She was born June 7, 1924 to Emil and Hannah Anderson in Duluth, Minnesota. They moved to Saginaw, and she later attended Central Michigan University, where she attained a teaching degree. While in Saginaw, Anna Louise met and later married Frederick Howard Haines August 21, 1948. They were happily married for over 65 years. She taught math at the Saginaw Public Schools for 35 years. Anna Louise was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, now Beacon of Hope Church. Throughout the years, Anna Louise enjoyed serving in many areas of the church, but the most recent was leading an adult Bible class. She loved to do many different crafts, sewing, and knitting for family, friends, and strangers. She was an avid reader. Anna Louise loved the Lord, her family, and her church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Kristin (Haines) Horvath. Anna Louise is survived by her beloved husband Frederick, and daughter Elizabeth Haines (special friend Richard Nerio) all of Saginaw, daughter Diane (Mark) Dowley and two grandchildren, who she dearly loved, Alex and Hannah Dowley, all of Spring Arbor, Michigan. Rev. Tucker Gunneman will officiate the funeral service on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (S. M-47). Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family welcomes friends to visit at the funeral home on Thursday April 10, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., and on Friday one hour before the funeral.
