Gnatkowski, Thomas C., Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved father and grandfather passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Covenant HealthCare Harrison Campus. Age 79 years. Son of the late Clarence and Emily (Pinske) Gnatkowski, Thomas was born September 3, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Maxine L. Glasslee on September 17, 1955. She predeceased him July 10, 2009. Thomas worked as a Tile Setter for all of his life retiring from Standard Tile in 1996. Tom passed his talents to two of his sons and grandson. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. Tom enjoyed playing his harmonica, going to the casino, golfing, fly fishing and was an avid University of Michigan, Detroit Tigers and Lions fan. Surviving are two daughters and three sons, Michael Gnatkowski, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Patrick and Cyndi Gnatkowski, Peggy Leach, Douglas and Sherri Gnatkowski, Mary and Nigel Yearham, all of Saginaw Twp.; ten grandchildren, Dustin (Kari), Lauren (Mark), Ryan, Matthew, Chelsi, Hailey, Tyler, Jacob, Tara, Logan; five great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Abigail, Annabelle, Reid and Grant; three sisters and two brothers, Barbara Gallant, Elaine (George) Schnepf, Butch (Sharon) Gnatkowski, Andrea (Charlie) Bradley and Ron (Dale) Gnatkowski; many nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Gnatkowski; a brother-in-law, Wally Gallant. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate. Honoring Mr. Gnatkowski’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at St. Helen Catholic Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
