Friske, William V. (Voll), Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Saginaw Geriatrics. Age 86 years. The son of the late John and Wanda (Wojda) Friske, Bill was born on September 10, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan. Bill married Mary Prall on September 11, 1948. She survives. Bill was a truck driver for Bender & Loudon. Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an usher at the Cross in the Woods and was an avid fisherman. Surviving besides his wife Mary are one son, Greg Friske, Saginaw; two grandchildren, Trent Friske and Breanna (Brandon) Watson; brothers and sisters, Claude Friske, Ernie (Germaine) Friske, Delores (Bill) Gardyszewski, Leonard (Mary Ann) Friske, Rita (Leon) Dubay, Patricia (Tony) Gronski, Louie (Pam) Friske; brother-in-law, Mathew Haskin. Bill was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Raymond and David Friske and Lorraine Haskin and Barbara Kensten. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate. Interment will take place in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors rendered by V.F.W. Post #1859 and Michigan National Guard. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00-6:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Cross in the Woods in Indian River.
