Foerster, Mildred H., Saginaw, Michigan


Passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Luther Manor. Age 94 years. Mildred Louch was born on December 18, 1919, in Albee Twp., Michigan. The daughter of the late William J. and Emma M. (Hohn) Louch, she married Harold M. Foerster on May 28, 1938, at St. James Lutheran Church in Saginaw. She had served as Holy Cross Lutheran Church Secretary for 13 years. She retired from St. Luke’s Hospital in 1985 and was a volunteer at St. Luke’s/Covenant Hospital for over 35 years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Thomas Township. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, son William and sister Fern Quackenbush. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Elizabeth (Betty) and Bruce Fry, Thomas Twp.; James (Maria) Foerster, Birch Run; Lois Yardley, Brighton; daughter-in-law, Diane Foerster, Kalamazoo; sister Emma Ryan, Haslet; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. A private funeral and burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Covenant Healthcare Foundation or Christ Ev.
