Durek, Stanley, Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved father and grandfather passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Magnum Care of Saginaw. Age 96 years. The son of the late John and Jennie (Jamrog) Durek, Stanley was born on September 5, 1917 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Stella Natoniewski on April 1, 1939. She predeceased him on May 18, 2004. Stanley had been employed by Muehlenbeck Distributing for 34 years. He enjoyed fixing bikes, A&W hot dogs and doughnuts and was an avid card player. Surviving are five daughters and two sons, Robert and Mary Durek, St. Charles; Victoria and Richard Lewis, Saginaw; Patricia Libera, Pinconning; Edward and Susan Durek, Saginaw; Kathleen and Edwin Hasse, Saginaw; Janet and Lawrence Schwinck, Bay City; Virginia and Dale LaBelle, Lupton; 24 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Durek; a sister, Evelyn Witek; and a son-in-law, Clarence Libera. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Devin Chisholm will officiate with burial to take place in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
