Davis, Enid G., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Enid G. Davis passed away peacefully at Cartwright Hospice Center on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Enid Davis (Gardner) was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 15, 1923, the daughter of Gilbert Gardner and Gladys (Haug) Gardner. Both parents are deceased. Enid moved from Detroit to Saginaw as a young girl. She attended St. Andrew’s school in Saginaw and finished her primary education at Arthur Hill High School. Later in life, she received her baccalaureate degree from Saginaw Valley State University. Enid had two sisters, Rita (James) Bocade and Jeanne (William) Davidson, both have pre-deceased her. Enid was married to Thomas A. Davis on November 28, 1942, he predeceased her. Enid had three children, Paul T. Davis (Jan Davis), Ann Davis and Thomas (Ty) A. Davis. Her son Thomas predeceased her. She had six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Enid served as the City Clerk for the City of Saginaw for many years until her retirement. During her retirement she was very active in a variety of church related and public service organizations including The Food Pantry, SPRED, Abortion Alternatives, the United Way and the Songsters just to mention a few. When she was able, she regularly attended Mass at St. Peter and Paul and St. Thomas Aquinas Churches. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. John R. Johnson will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
