Cherry, Karen Rae, Bay City, Michigan

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and great aunt, passed away June 11, 2014 at New Hope Valley Assistant Living surrounded by family members. Age 61 years and born January 2, 1953, Karen (Rae Rae), daughter of the late Eugene Edward and Bette Jean (Wade) Robinson attended St. Stephen Elementary School and is a 1971 graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School. She was of the Catholic faith. Karen went on to receive a cosmetology degree from Bay Shirer and practiced for several years. She married Timothy J. Cherry, on April 13, 1985. He survives her. During the past 29 years Karen was a sales assistant for Macy’s Department Store in the purse and costume jewelry department and more recently as a specialist in the watch department. Karen, always a “Classy Lady” with a witty sense of humor enjoyed life, her family, friends, good food/drink/music, travel, fast cars, knitting, attending her plants, collecting angels and mice figurines, gambling, the sun and beach and being a member of the Saginaw Bay Off Shore Power Boat Club with her husband, Tim. A special thank you to Hospice Advantage Director, Kelly Hamilton, and Hospice Nurse, Cindy Wickman, for their unconditional care with love and to the New Hope Valley Assisted Living Staff for the exceptional care not only for Karen but family members during her stay. Surviving besides her husband Tim are one brother and four sisters, Grant (Doris) Robinson, Carrollton; Suzanne Robinson, Thomas Twp.; Diane (Michael) Barnes, Saginaw Twp.; Jeannie Robinson, Saginaw Twp.; Janice Robinson, Palm Bay Florida; two step-daughters, Kellie (Stephen) Doyle, Auburn; Kammy Dashner, Bay City; five step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Maria Beth Robinson.
