Cambridge, Jack R., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Livonia, Michigan. Age 89 years. Son of the late John and Sarah (Smith) Cambridge, Jack was born July 18, 1924 in London, Ontario, Canada. He married Margaret Cleverley. She predeceased him. Jack served in the Royal Canadian Navy in active service during WWII in the North Atlantic, English Channel and Baltic Sea from 1941 to 1949. He retired as area sales manager for Gerber Products Company after 39 years of service. Jack was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America for 39 years holding various positions most recent as Council Commissioner for the Lake Huron Area Council now the Water and Woods Council. He received numerous awards for his scouting service including the Silver Beaver Award and Silver Antelope Award, the highest adult service awards given by a Council and Region in the Boy Scouts of America. He also received the St. George Award, Catholic Scouting’s highest adult award. Jack was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and Fourth Degree Knights. Surviving are two sons, James (Mary) Cambridge, Livonia, Michigan; Gregory (Andrea) Cambridge, Orion, Michigan; five grandchildren, Paul (Dr. Amanda) Cambridge, St. Louis, MO; Robert (Erica) Cambridge and their daughter Alyssa, Cleveland, OH; Elizabeth Cambridge, Birmingham, MI; Brandon Cambridge, East Lansing, MI; and Timothy Cambridge, East Lansing, MI. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and at St. Stephen Catholic Church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
