Bohnhoff, William A., Irons, MI, Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father and grandfather passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at his home. Age 85 years. The son of the late Edward and Olive (Neumann) Bohnhoff, William was born on May 23, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion. He married Ann Mae Akerley on July 28, 1951. She predeceased him on January 8, 2013. Bill was an engineer for C & O Railroad and retired after 36 years of service. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Baldwin, Michigan. Bill enjoyed metal detecting, gardening, fishing, and cooking especially soups. Surviving are one son, two daughters and their spouses, Dr. Craig Bohnhoff and his wife Teri, Saginaw; Karen and Michael Hollenbeck, Saginaw; Rachelle Treib, Flushing; 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Eric, Alison, Trevor, Paul, Jessica, Nicole, Bradley, Travis and Zachary; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and James Sonsmith, Irons; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. David W. Bogda will officiate with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #439. Interment will take place 4:00 p.m. Saturday in Lakeview Cemetery in Irons, Michigan. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
