Mike Roman Bator passed away with his family on Saturday, April 5, 2014. The son of the late Frank and Mary (Klenk) Bator, Mike was born on June 1, 1927 in Fosters, Michigan . Mike was a veteran of WW II seeing the world at 17 as a Navy Seabee. He married Lillian Sawicki, his loving wife of 64 years, on October 22, 1949. She survives him. He retired from US Graphite (Wickes) working as a machinist there for 41 years. He was a lifetime member of St. Casimir’s Parish, Pulaski Club and a Knights of Columbus member. “Big Mike” seized life, he loved to polka, bowl, play euchre and carouse with Betty and Stan Krajkowski and his nephews, Chet Kujawa, Hank Kujava & Stevie Bator, nieces, Virgie Vogel, Patty Shapee, and his many, many friends. He has 4 children Michael (Tricia), Patrick (Carla), Gregory (Mary) and his baby girl Kelly. He was blessed with many Bator grandchildren,Brian, Kristin (Drew) Hilbrandt, & Kevin; Maureen & Sara Halpin; Matthew, Kathleen & Bridget and one great grandchild Shaye Tricia Hilbrandt. Mike was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers Lottie (Kujawa), Francis (Tyburski), Steve and Leo Bator and as well his daughters-in-law, Tricia Bator and Carla Bator. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church – St. Casimir Site. Rev. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery with Military Honors rendered. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Family and friends will pray the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
