Banda, Juanita (Juarez), Bridgeport, Michigan

Passed away early Friday, June 6, 2014, at Covenant – Cooper surrounded by her loving family. Juanita was 93 years old. Juanita Juarez was born on August 16, 1920, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Simon and Jesusa (Rojas) Juarez. She married Rafael Banda Sr. on June 4, 1945. He survives her. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Rachel Castaneda; Rafael Banda Jr.; Olga Gonzalez; Ernest (Araceli) Banda; Nora (Tony) Barsenas; 28 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Primitivo Juarez; several nieces, nephews and their families; son-in-laws, Raul Gonzalez and Adan Puga Sr. She was predeceased by a daughter, Maria Irma; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Banda; son-in-law, Daniel Castaneda Sr.; Brother, Pedro Juarez; sisters, Maria Lena Rangel and Aurora Guevara; nephew, Adolph Rangel. We would like to thank the staff at Covenant-Cooper, 5 East floor for the excellent care she received. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 915 N. Sixth Ave. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, O.F.M., Cap., will officiate. Her family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Joseph Church.
