Passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at home after a courageous fight with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Age 53 years. She was born June 13, 1959 in Saginaw, MI, to Fred and Patricia (Schnepf) Birnbaum. On August 7, 1982, she married Christopher Woodruff in Saginaw and he survives. Connie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dexter and was a realtor in the Ann Arbor area for over twenty years. Connie lived life to the fullest and was a loving wife, mother, and friend to all. She was kind hearted, wrapped with energy and capable of lighting up a room with laughter. In addition to her devoted husband Chris of 30 years, she is survived by a daughter, Emily of Lansing, a son, Lee (Amanda) of Baltimore, MD; mother, Patricia (Dick) Redifer of Freeland, MI; father, Fred (Jan) Birnbaum of Linwood, MI; one sister, Beth (Dave) Blank of Saginaw, two brothers, Mark (Suzanne) Birnbaum of Linwood and Steve (Jennifer) Birnbaum of Freeland; several nieces and nephews and her adorable sidekick, Lucy. Visitation will be held at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. where a vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be prayed at the new St. Joseph Church, 6805 Mast Road, Dexter, on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. (visitation at 10:00 a.m.) with Fr. Brendan Walsh officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove East Cemetery, Chelsea. Contributions in her memory may be made to Arbor Hospice or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
