Specht, Phillip Raymond (Ray), Saginaw, Michigan


Passed away Monday, February 4, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center-Harrison. Age 84 years. Ray was born on July 20, 1928, in Midland, to the late Henry and Eva (Asmus) Specht. He married Goldie I. Brenay on November 3, 1951, in Saginaw. She predeceased him on August 28, 1985. Prior to his retirement in 1986, Ray was employed as a job setter at GM Steering Gear Plant 4 for over 38 years. Surviving are two children and their spouses, Karen (Dave) Dilts, Saginaw; Ron (Sue) Specht, Bridgeport; five grandchildren, Pamela (Brian) Miller, Crystal Bartels, Ronald Specht, Jr., Jermey (Shamiah) Specht, Jamie (Jamie) Specht; 9 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy (Wayne) Fulton, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his son, Dennis, also 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral service will take place on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. Pastor Ted Doolittle will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m., then on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
