Snyder, Frank V. (Bud), Bay City, Michigan


Passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 peacefully in Florida with his family by his side. He was 87 years old. Frank V. Snyder was born on July 3, 1925 to the late Fred and Rose (Noeker) Snyder. He married Betty M. Pomerville on September 1, 1951, in Saginaw, and was her loving companion for over 61 years. She survives him. Frank graduated from St. Mary's High School. He retired from Helfrecht Machine and Tool and also worked for Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring in Decatur, AL in 1981. Frank was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed cheering on the Tigers and Spartans. He also enjoyed woodworking, vacations and spending time with his family and many wonderful friends. He was a Board Member of the Catholic Federal Credit Union TAT Committee, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Germania Club and long time member of St. Thomas Aquinas and St. John Vianney. Surviving are his wife, Betty of Bay City; two daughters: Karen (David) Malott of Sarasota, FL, Sheri (Randy) Keene of Hemlock; five grandchildren: Lindsay Malott, Morgan (Niv) Goldman, Coral Keene, Casey (girlfriend Marsha Zeiss) Keene, Carson (Chihiro) Keene; and one great-grandchild Nio Keene; special pets Maggie, Schatzi and Chloe. He is also survived by a sister Loretta Granz of Beverly Hills, CA. He will be affectionately remembered as “Uncle Bud” by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, David F. Snyder in 2007, and a brother Darrell Snyder of Bloomfield Hills, MI. A special acknowledgement to Father Henry McDaid of Birmingham, AL for his special friendship and mentoring. Frank's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the compassionate care of the many organizations in Sarasota that cared for him. A celebration of his life for relatives and friends will take place in early May and be announced at a later date.
