Raycraft, Dale Thomas, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 81 years. The son of the late Harlow and Mabel (Bilsby) Raycraft, Dale was born June 18, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Dale married Jeannine Brennan in 1954. She predeceased him in 1987. He then married Barbara Boertman on May 6, 1988. She survives him. Dale was employed at Aerocraft Boats in St. Charles for 14 years. He then owned and operated his own marine dealership, Water Wonderland in Clio, Michigan until his retirement in 1996. Dale enjoyed serving as past association president of many properties. He loved boating, golfing, fishing, storytelling and telling jokes. Dale greatly enjoyed summers on Mackinac Island and winters in Naples, Florida. Most of all, he valued the time he spent with family and friends and bragging about his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife Barbara are his children, Michael and Wendy Raycraft, Frankenmuth; Julye Raycraft, Cedarville; Suzanne Leach, Hessel, Michigan; Jane Boertman Clements and Karl Clements, Orchard Lake; Kelly Nye, Grand Rapids; Scott and Michele Boertman, West Bloomfield; Timothy and Beth Boertman, Saginaw; also surviving are Chris Nye and Robert McGreevy; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandson with two more great-grandchildren on the way; a sister-in-law, Marge Raycraft; many special in-laws including Duane and Janice Dinninger; several nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Brisbois, a son, Patrick Raycraft, a brother, Dean Raycraft, a daughter-in-law, Karen Raycraft, a son-in-law, Jesse Leach and by a sister-in-law, Judith Leidlein. Honoring Mr. Raycraft’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
