Beloved brother passed away suddenly Friday, April 26, 2013 in Medellin, Columbia. Age 53 years. The son of the late Dominic and Salina (Giacalone) Provenzano, Joe was born December 9, 1959. He graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in 1978. Joe earned his engineering degree from Michigan State University. He was employed as Vice-President of International Sales at Prab and Hapman until his retirement in 2010. Joe was a member of the Michigan State Alumni Association. He was also involved in the Portage Jaycees where he was instrumental in the "Reach for Success" corporate recruiting project which garnered both state and national honors. Joe also served as a mentor in the local schools' project where he tutored and advised underprivileged youth. He was of the Catholic faith. He loved traveling the world and capturing his excursions in photographs. Joe is predeceased by his parents and infant siblings, Michael and Grace Ann Provenzano. Surviving are two brothers and five sisters; Rosa (Fred) Perry, Saginaw; Annette Provenzano, Grand Rapids; Jack (Lynne) Provenzano, Saginaw; Regina Provenzano, Saginaw; Donna Provenzano, Saginaw; Angela (David) Tummelson, Grand Rapids; Dominic (Barbara) Provenzano, Lithia, Florida. Joe is also survived by one nephew; Dominic Provenzano and seven nieces; Jennifer (Perry) Boyes, Lisa (Perry) Reed, Mia Provenzano, Salina Tummelson, Isabel Provenzano, Gabrielle Provenzano, Francesca Provenzano Also surviving are three great-nieces, one great-nephew along with numerous cousins. Honoring Joe’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 2711 Mackinaw in Saginaw. Friends may greet the family at St. Stephen Catholic Church on Saturday from 5:30 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Michigan State University College of Engineering, or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
