Michalski, Alexander M., Frankenmuth, Michigan

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away suddenly Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his home. Age 74 years. The son of the late Alexander and Irene (Shemanski) Michalski, Alex was born February 21, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Alex married Barbara Reinhardt, his loving wife of 46 years, on August 26, 1967. She survives him. He was employed at General Motors for 40 years until his retirement in 2004. Alex was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and taking care of his dog, Buddy. Most of all, Alex loved being surrounded by family and friends, most of all his grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife Barbara are one daughter, Marie and David Bloomfield, Herndon, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Wendi Michalski, Big Rapids; two grandchildren, John Michalski and Therese Bloomfield; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward and Kathy Reinhardt, Saginaw; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Alex was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Michalski, and by a brother, Raphael Michalski. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Frankenmuth. Rev. Fr. Robert H. Byrne will officiate with burial in Blessed Trinity Church Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Frankenmuth on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service, led by Rev. Fr. Richard E. Jozwiak, will take place at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
