Michalak, Wanda L., Saginaw, Michigan

Loving, kind wife and mother to three generations of children passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at St. Mary’s of Michigan Medical Center. Age 86 years. The daughter of the late Lester and Eleanor (Fobear) Ochsankehl, Wanda was born on August 7, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan. Wanda graduated from Holy Family High School and then from Cosmetology School. She married Stephen Michalak on February 15, 1947. He survives. Wanda owned and operated a hairdressing salon in Saginaw prior to raising her children. Wanda was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Catholic League of Women. Surviving besides her husband Stephen are a daughter and a son, Lynn and Robert Farrand, Saginaw; Ronald and Karen Michalak, Tampa, Florida; four grandchildren, Heather Coumbs, Ft. Collins, Colorado; Eric Michalak, Boulder, Colorado; Brooke Kelsey, Cleveland, Ohio; Jeff Michalak, Tampa, Florida; great-grandchild, Owen Kelsey; a sister, Evelyn Hetherington. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. The family will pray the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
