Masker, Emilie Marie, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Edgewood Assisted Living in Saginaw. Age 93 years. The daughter of the late Carl and Henriette (Nolte) Montiegel, Emilie was born on September 23, 1920 in Wheeling, West Virginia. She married Edward Paul Masker on January 31, 1948. He predeceased her on November 9, 2002. Emilie served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Hospital Corp. She was an Income Tax Officer for the City of Saginaw retiring in 1982. Emilie was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and a current member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. She was a member of the DORCAS Society. She enjoyed reading. Surviving are one daughter and three sons, Susan and Larry Schiewe, Merrill; Montie and Ruth Masker, Saginaw; Paul and Pamela Masker, Frankenmuth and Martin and Donna Masker, Florida Keys; four grandchildren, Michael and Jessica Schiewe, Katherine and Brandon Field, Steve and Karalee Masker and Andrew Masker; five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Martin, Matilda and Tyler; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Suzanne Stahl and Ruth and Carlton Wodtke. Emilie was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Montiegel and a sister, Elizabeth Botkins. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Staff of Edgewood Assisted Living and SouthernCare Hospice for their loving and tender care that they showed their mother. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate with interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Edgewood Assisted Living, St. Peter Lutheran Church or SouthernCare Hospice.
