Lovay, Ruth M. (Simecki), Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility where she resided the past four years. Age 99 years. The daughter of the late Fred and Myrtle (Jones) Gould, Ruth was born February 23, 1914 in Saginaw, Michigan and would have celebrated her 100th birthday in two months. She married Arthur Delorme on May 19, 1932. He predeceased her July 4, 1939. She then married John F. Lovay on August 29, 1942. He predeceased her March 17, 1981. Ruth married Peter Simecki on March 19, 1987. He predeceased her October 10, 2002. She was employed at Morley Bros. for five years. Ruth was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Surviving are three sons and their spouses, Donald (Kay) Delorme, West Melbourne, Florida; Edward (Sue) Delorme, Guntersville, Alabama; James (Susan) Lovay, Manistique, Michigan; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Delorme, Anderson, South Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; one step-child, Helen (Don) Liebrock, Hemlock, Michigan; a special step-daughter-in-law, Grace Lovay, Saginaw, Michigan; and over 100 step-grandchildren. Ruth was predeceased by one son, Richard Delorme, and seven step-children, Raymond F. Lovay, Frances G. Lovay, John B. Lovay, Esther B. Makl, Ruth Streussnig, Dorothy MacFarlane and Grace J. Mooney; she is also survived by two sisters, Janet Wilson and Mary Jo Beek. Ruth was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
