Loiacano, James V., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 79 years. Son of the late Salvatore and Rose (Parisi) Loiacano, James was born October 8, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Sally A. Meehleder, his loving wife of 58 years, on June 25, 1955. She survives him. James was a store manager at Vescio’s for 28 years and I.G.A Food Store. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and the Sons of Italy. James enjoyed gardening and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife Sally are one son and two daughters, Jim and Linda Loiacano, Marianne Dalton, Sue and Chris Lacy, all of Saginaw; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, William and Esther Loiacano; one sister, Sarah DiMambro; several nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip and Delores Loiacano and brother-in-law, Joseph DiMambro. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with private entombment in Roselawn Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
