Hojsak, Mary, Saginaw, Michigan

Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at Medilodge of Montrose with her family at her side. Age 98 years. Daughter of the late Karl and Clara (Menzel) Kohl, Mary was born August 24, 1914 in Galicia, Austria. She was married to Bernard Hojsak on November 28, 1933 in Poland. He predeceased her in 1958. Mary was employed by Home Dairy and The Blind Institution. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Zilwaukee. She was devoted to her Faith. Our mother was most dedicated to saying her Rosary on a daily basis. Mary loved cooking, baking, needle work and gardening. She especially loved spending time with her family. Mary was a very independent person, living alone to her last years of her life. She never wanted much for herself but was always generous and giving to others. Surviving are one daughter, two sons and their spouses, Elfrieda and Richard Hedrich, Montrose; Martin and Gloria Hojsak, Bay City; Joseph and Joanne Hojsak, Owosso; seven grandchildren, Cynthia Loringer, Christof (Kimberly) Hedrich, Timothy Hedrich and friend Kathy McMahan, Jennifer (Robert) Foote, Jeffrey (Stacey) Hojsak, Jason Hojsak and Lloyd Sanders; six great-grandchildren, Danielle Loringer, Luke Anya, Stacia Hedrich, Ashlyn Hojsak, Allison and Brayden Foote; her sister, Amalia Schubert, Germany; her brother, Clemenz (Marga) Kohl; sister-in-law, Erika Wetzel; several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her son, John Hojsak; her daughter, Herdwig Hojsak; sisters, Teresa Kohl and infant sister, Maria Kohl; two brothers, Lorenz and John Kohl; sister-in-law Hilda Kohl and brother-in-law, Erich Kohl. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Montrose Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at St. Matthew Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
