Herzberg, Edward R., Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper Campus after a lengthy illness. Age 70 years. The son of the late Robert and Thelma (Cheshire) Herzberg, Ed was born on June 12, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan. Ed was a 1961 graduate of St. Maryís High School. He then went on to earn a Masterís Degree in Education from Michigan State University in 1968. Ed married Rose Ann Breidenbach July 12, 1969. She survives him. Ed was a dedicated teacher for 31 years at Merrill Park Elementary School. For more than 40 years, every morning Ed went and walked at the YMCA. Ed also was the sound manager for Ann Herzberg Dance Recitals for more than 40 years. For several years after his retirement, he and Rose Ann spent parts of the winter in Florida. Ed loved going to his childrenís and grandchildrenís sporting events. Surviving besides his wife Rose Ann are a daughter, Jill (Todd) Bourcier-Schultz, Linwood; a son Scott Herzberg, Linwood; two grandchildren, Joshua and Ali Bourcier; a sister, Ann Friske, Frankenmuth; two nieces and their families; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Allen and Julie Breidenbach. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
