Ecarius, Marlene Frances, Saginaw Township, Michigan

Loving mother and sister passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 at her home. Age 71 years. Daughter of the late Frank and Sadie (Wacholda) Nowicki, Marlene was born November 2, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Michael J. Ecarius on August 1, 1964. He predeceased her on December 6, 2010. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, its worship commission, funeral luncheon committee and a church cleaning volunteer. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4232 Ladies Auxiliary. Marlene enjoyed gardening, reading, playing bridge, bird watching and especially being with her family. Surviving are one daughter, Christine M. Ecarius, Ormond Beach, Florida; two sisters and one brother, Jeannine Jordon, Frankenmuth; Rita (John) Ezop, Frankenmuth; Conrad (Kathryn) Nowicki, St. Helen; a sister-in-law, Brenda Nowicki, Denton, Texas; many nieces and nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Ezop and three brothers, Joseph, Michael and Francis Nowicki. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Ecarius wishes cremation will follow with entombment of cremains in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. and on Friday at St. Stephen Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 Ladies Auxiliary will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
