Dill, Dorothy L., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 at her home. Age 103 years. The daughter of the late James and Theresa (Ernst) Dickinson, Dorothy was born July 16, 1909 in Cheboygan, Michigan. She married Elmer C. Dill. Dorothy was employed at Hurley Hospital in Flint and at U.S. Graphite as an industrial nurse and was a member of the Industrial Nurse Association. She was a past member of Calvary Episcopal Church and a current member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Dorothy loved being in church and especially her family and friends. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Marcia L. and Wayne Parent, Saginaw; two grandchildren, Drake J. Parent and his special friend Diane Burril, Saginaw; Damian J. Parent, Saginaw ; four great-grandchildren, Kasey, Karlee, Dalton and Taylor Parent; two nephews, Robert J. Paterson, Saginaw; David A. and Sue Paterson, Saginaw; and many great friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by a grandson, Diron Dickinson, and by her sister, Elizabeth Paterson. Dorothy’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Grace Hospice for the loving care they provided. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church (corner of Michigan and Hancock Streets). Rev. Pam Renna will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
