Cherry Jr., Victor Vincent, Freeland, Michigan

Passed away suddenly at his home in Freeland early on Thursday, March 21, 2013. Age 67 years. He was born on October 5, 1945, the son of the late Victor Sr. and Louise Cherry of Saginaw. Victor grew up on Lapeer St. in Saginaw and graduated from Buena Vista High School in 1964. He worked as a tool inspector for GM Saginaw Steering Gear. He married Sheryl Ray on September 30, 1978 in Saginaw. After working 35 years for GM, he retired and started his own successful business Cherryland Gage Co. Victor was incredibly hard working and full of life. He could make friends with nearly anyone he met and always made people laugh. An avid hunter and fisherman, Victor was adventurous, often testing the limits of himself and his companions in the great outdoors. Surviving are his loving wife of 35 years, Sheryl; three sons: Victor III, Jim and Brett; three sisters: Jeanette (Jack) Douglas, Susan Robnolte and Dianna (Frank) Hirschenberger; numerous aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces; father-in-law, John (Kay) Ray; brother-in-law, Jon Ray; daughter-in-law, Donna; two step-grandchildren, Virginia and Shawn; one step-great grandchild, Matthew; and two dogs, Sugar Bear and Sam. May Victor’s spirit live on through his family, friends, and in God. Family and friends are welcome to visit on Friday, April; 5 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Snow Funeral Home 3775 N. Center Road. A eulogy will commence from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m. followed by lunch at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 1501 N. Center Road, Saginaw Township.
