Carroll, Edward Francis, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved brother and uncle passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Mary’s of Michigan Hospital. Age 77 years. Son of the late Justin and Louise (Putnam) Carroll, Edward was born May 22, 1936 in Tawas, Michigan. Ed graduated from St. Andrew High School in 1955 and Ferris State College in 1964. Ed served in the Michigan National Guard for six years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #593 and the United Commercial Travelers (UCT) for more than fifty years. He, his father Justin, and brother Gerald, owned and operated Carroll Hardware in Saginaw for over 52 years, selling the business before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at his cabin, camping and attending the Tiger spring training games in Florida during the winter. Surviving are two brothers, Gerald Carroll and Michael Carroll; seven nephews, David Kruske, Stephen (Julie) Kruske, Andrew Kruske, Gerald Kruske, Matthew Kruske, Aaron (April) Carroll and Adam ( Lori) Carroll; and nine great-nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Robert) Kruske, and his sister-in-law, Gretchen Carroll. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. John Johnson will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
