Heaven was blessed with one of the great ones. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and best friend passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 with his loving wife at his side at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Age 64 years. Son of Geraldine (Styn) Carolan and the late Keith Carolan, Michael was born September 2, 1949 in Bay City, Michigan. He served in the Army National Guard. Michael married Maria E. Markle on December 20, 1978. She survives him. Michael was employed at Computer Weld Technology of Houston, Texas and was a member of American Welding Society. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He loved his vegetable garden, enjoyed Golf, watching Michigan State Games and going on adventures with his grandson Jack. Surviving besides his wife Maria are one son, three daughters and their spouses, Sean Carolan, Bay City; Marisa Carolan Lambkin, Saginaw; Lara and Phil Tambouridis, Rockford, Illinois; Cara Carolan, Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Tylla, Jack and Liliana; his mother, Geraldine Carolan, Bay City; two sisters and two brothers, Dianne Carolan and (Steve) Clark, Patrick Carolan, Maureen Carolan, Keith Carolan II, all of Bay City; several nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his sister and brother, Kathleen Jenkins and Kevin Carolan; two nephews, Kyle Carolan and Patrick Jenkins. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. John R. Johnson will officiate. A private entombment will take place in St. Andrew Mausoleum. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 12:00-6:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Salvation Army, SS.
