Buchholz, Paul A., Carrollton, Michigan

Passed away Monday, April 8, 2013. Age 89 years. Paul Alexander Buchholz was born January 11, 1924 to the late Alexander and Amelia (Grams) Buchholz. He married Tessie Sulek June 4, 1949. She predeceased him October 10, 2002. He then married Laurel Howe May 29, 2004. She survives him. Paul was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 439, Moose Lodge 82, the Washington Society, and the Pulaski Club. Paul was employed by General Motors Steering Gear Saginaw Division, retiring in 1986. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters; Mrs. Diane (Dr. Michael) McCray, and Mrs. Caprice Savage, five granddaughters; one brother Albert Buchholz, step-son George (Sharon) Howe, his grandsons David (Heather) Howe and George Jr. (Nicole) Howe, a granddaughter Megan McCray, his great grandsons he admired; Trevor and Ethan, and many other loving family members and friends. Paul was predeceased by three sisters; Elsie Graham, Ida Tafel, and Alma Benkert, and two brothers; Carl and Henry Buchholz. The family extends a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of five east at Covenant Medical Center. Funeral service will take place on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (S. M-47). Rev. Michael Kemper will officiate with entombment to follow at Oakwood Mausoleum where military honors will take place. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour before the service on Friday.
