Brandt, Kathleen “Joan”, Saginaw, Michigan

Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away March 30, 2013, at Caretel Inn of Bay City at the age of 90 years. Joan was born November 4, 1922, in Manly, Australia. She met Frederick Ross Brandt during WWII and came to the U.S.A. as a war bride. They were married February 22, 1947, and he predeceased her in 1995. She was a long-time member of the war-brides club. She is survived by her children, Josephine Mosqueda, Kenneth (Anna) Brandt, and Marie Basner; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons, Frederick William Brandt and Derrick Charles Brandt; grandson, Zachary Brandt; and son-in-law, Carlos Mosqueda. According to her wishes she has been donated to the University of Michigan Medical School. When she returns her ashes will be entombed at Oakwood Mausoleum. A memorial visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at W. L. Case & Company, 409 Adams St. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the University of Michigan Medical School.
