Bazilsky, Vi (Watson), Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 92 years. The daughter of the late John and Alice (Fox) Kiley, Viola was born on July 16, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Herbert A. Watson on January 25, 1947. He predeceased her on July 25, 1973. She then married Edward Bazilsky in 1981. He predeceased her on March 9, 2009. Vi loved her work at St. Helen Catholic Church Treasurer of the PTA. She volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital Gift Shop and was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary #9809. She loved traveling to Florida, Canada, especially to Hawaii with her sister Alice. Sewing, embroidery, carving, painting, ceramics, bingo, bowling and perch fishing in the Saginaw Bay were some of her favorite things to do. Vi would try anything and always did her best at whatever she attempted. Vi also enjoyed working at Bauer Jewelry in Saginaw. She liked all kinds of puzzles and playing cards. She especially was proud of her grandchildren and always told everyone about them. She was always gave of herself so generously and enjoyed serving others. God will surely bless her and keep her and will now welcome her home. She was especially proud of her Irish heritage. What a great sense of humor she had. It served her well till the end! She was great example to all, as she lived each day to the fullest. Surviving are two daughters, Carol and Tom Krauseneck, Saginaw; Patty and Jim Elliott, Saginaw; six grandchildren, John (Mary) Roberts, Mark (Julia) Roberts, Paula (Jeff) Bruske, Jim (Shannon) Elliott, Mike Elliott and Carrie (Tim) Begick; her great-grandchildren, Victoria, Sydney, and Jake Roberts, Joshua and Maggie Elliott, Skylar, Erika and Cole Bruske, Jozelynn and Brandon Begick, Camille and Ethan Ostrander; a sister-in-law, Dee Kiley; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by all of her sisters and brothers, Alice Lincoln, Vernetta Kerridge, Josephine Lincoln, Treasa Frost, William Kiley, Michael Kiley, Gervace Kiley, Earl Kiley and Irene Scanlon. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of V.N.A. Hospice/Cartwright Hospice Residence especially Katie, Denise, Neema, Jamie, Deb, Charlie, Patti, Eunice, Mel, Deb, Laurie, Shirley, Mary, Gail and all others for the loving and compassionate care they gave to Vi. To her family physician and confident John B. Johnson, M.D., and his staff, we will always be grateful for all the TLC you gave our mom. Also the family would like to thank neighbors and special friends, Dan and Kathy Maul for their love and support. Honoring Mrs. Bazilsky’s wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Inurnment will take place in Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends may call at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where the family will be present on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
