Ahrens, C. Thomas, Lady Lake, FL, Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan


C. Thomas Ahrens was born in Saginaw, Michigan on May 23, 1942, and passed away on June 10, 2013. He was the son of Karl W. and Cecilia (Brieske) Ahrens. Tom graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1960 and received his business degree from Albion College in 1964. He married Maria del Mar Coloma in Madrid, Spain in 1970. She passed away in 1994. Tom was a Vietnam Air Force Veteran. He was the owner/operator of C. Thomas Ahrens, Inc. and sold Gould municipal/industrial pumps, one of which converts salt water to drinking water. Tom enjoyed golf, traveling and was very involved in The Villages, where he lived. Tom is survived by his three children: Javier (Stephanie) Ahrens, Lincoln, Alabama; Gregory (Heather) Ahrens, Tampa, Florida; and Eva Ahrens Gustin and her special friend Levi Meeks, Houston, Texas. His six grandchildren are: Emilie, Hana, Kailie, Izabela, Gabriela and Elias of Lincoln, Alabama. Surviving are one brother, Robert (Mary) Ahrens, Saginaw, Michigan and brother-in-law, Donald Butts, Bull Head City, Arizona. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Mar, and his sister Patricia Butts. He has in-laws and nieces and nephews that live in Spain and the U.S. A gathering was held for Tom at the Lady Lake Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home on Friday, June 14, 2013.
