Woodruff, Howard Lamar, Saginaw, Michigan


Passed away Thursday, August 09, 2012 at his home, age 90 years. The son of late Marion and Katie (Riddle) Woodruff was born February 21, 1922 in Boonville, Mississippi. He graduated from High School in 1940 and served with the U. S. Army Cavalry during WWII. He moved to Saginaw in 1949 and was employed by U.S. Graphite and Wickes Corporation retiring with 30 years of service. He married Joan Marie Revard, July 20, 1951. She survives him. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the U.A.W, the American Legion and an active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose # 82. He enjoyed fishing and cooking. Surviving besides his wife, Joan, are many loving nieces and nephew whom he had a profound effect upon by helping raise and nurture them. He was predeceased by his parents, and two sisters, Hazel (Barnet) Browning and Maxine Shackelford. The funeral service will take place on Saturday August 11, 2012 at noon at W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel. Rev. Robert L DeLand will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. .
