Wedding, Frank, Saginaw, Michigan

Age 84, died peacefully in his Saginaw Township home Wednesday morning after a long bout with Parkinson disease. Frank was born 7/27/27 in Saginaw, MI to John and Ethel (Winston) Wedding, where he was raised till he joined the US Army in the mid 1940's, serving in World War II. When he returned home, he married Erma (Leslie) Reisbig. Together in Bay City they had 4 children: Sally McCreery, Jackie (Phil) Gendron, Mark and Mike (Flo) Wedding. Jackie died earlier last year to Leukemia. Surviving him also are his brothers John, Warren, and Charles and their families. Frank also has 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was a close friend with Mary Burmeister, whom he loved. She was with him for 15 years and was with him through the Parkinson. Frank worked over 35 years for Consumers Power Company, first as a Boiler Operator, later as a Supervision Instructor. He also was a substitute teacher in the Bay City and Saginaw school systems during that time. He was very active in the community, president of local PWP, AARP, and COPOCO Retirees chapters. Frank was a member of American Legion Post #439. But he was most active with his family and those around him whom he loved. He always spent time with them, enjoying just everyday life and the special events, such as birthday parties, stamp collecting, Piston's basketball, Tiger Baseball, and Michigan Football. He touched many lives, and will be missed by all. Memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Bible Church, 5433 N. Center Road, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of service. Frank’s sons will officiate. Military honors will be under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
