Walton Jr., Robert Merton, Bridgeport, Michigan


Passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at University of Michigan Hospital. Age 59 years. The son of the late Robert and Beatrice Maxine (Passon) Walton was born September 4, 1952 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Betty J. St. Charles, June 28, 1975. She survives him. He served with the U. S. Army for two years and the Michigan National Guard for fourteen years. He was employed by General Motors, Malleable Iron Foundry retiring due to disability. He was a member of the Shields Fraternal Order of Eagles # 497. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and bowling. Surviving besides his wife, Betty, are a daughter and son, Shirley Irene and Robert Hemingway; Bobby Walton; two grandchildren, Gerald Robert and Maddlyn Rose Hemingway; two sisters and their husbands, Jeannie and Robert Hughes, Arizona; JoAnn and Jerry Essex, Bay City, MI; a brother, Paul Walton, Saginaw, MI; his mother-in-law, Shirley St. Charles; several nieces and nephews. A brother, David Walton, has predeceased him. The funeral service will take place on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy., Saginaw. Rev. Ted Doolittle will officiate with military burial in Pinegrove Cemetery, Bridgeport under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859.
