Wade, Robert James, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Cartwright Care Center at the age of 84 years. Robert was born July 2, 1927, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Lawrence and Lula (DeRosia) Wade. He graduated from St. Joseph High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He married Evelyn Foor September 20, 1952; she predeceased him December 20, 2010. He was a carpenter all of his life. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council, Shattuck. He is survived by one son, James (Nancy) Wade, Pinconning; two daughters, Linda M. Kato, Saginaw; Sally Wade, Saginaw; five grandchildren, Mike and Lynnann Wade; Kristopher, Kevin (Janice) and Keith Kato; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Alyssa and Tyler Wade, and Konstantinos and Nikkos Kato; siblings, Joseph (Carol) Wade, Ann Soltysiak, Jean Wade, Shirley (Walt) Feringa; seven sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Shirley Wade, Mary Wade, Lucille Palmer, Ernie (Gen) Foor, Madonna Dubay, Alva (Iva) Foor Jr., Jan McCann, Arlene Storey, Robert “Bud” (Betty) Foor, and Florence “Tootsie” (Arthur) Scherzer many nieces, nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Allen Kato; twin great-grandsons, Dominic and Paul Jasman; siblings, Duane Wade, Jean Lombardi, Mary Wade, Jack Wade, Jerry Wade, and Don Wade; four brothers-in-law, Ervin, Wayne, Orville, and Eldon Foor. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Cartwright Care Center for the loving care they showed to Robert. The funeral liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles St. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with entombment in St. Andrew Mausoleum with military services under the auspices of VFW Post 1859, Carrollton. His family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, on Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. where a Vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friends and family may then call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
