Thompson, Richard B. (Dick), Thomas Township, Michigan


Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 63 years. The son of the late Jack and Marion (Price) Thompson, Richard was born May 30, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Marjorie Dickenson, his loving wife of 34 years, on February 4, 1978. Richard was employed at Winters Floor Covering for many years until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of Hopevale Church. Richard enjoyed being out-of-doors, especially pheasant hunting. Most of all, he loved being with his family. Surviving besides his wife Marge are two sons, two daughters and their spouses, Richard and Michelle Thompson, Saginaw; Melissa and Gregory Wendling, Saginaw; Michael and Kathryn Thompson, Saginaw; Kelly Thompson, Southfield; nine grandchildren, Cameron, Drew, Tyler, Caleb, Sydney, Lucas, Louis, Jackson and Alexandra; two brothers and two sisters, Jack and Carol Thompson, Sanford; James and Janet Thompson, Saginaw; Barbara and Steve Miller, Pinconning; Betty Robb, Bay City; Richard’s father-in-law, James Dickenson, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by a twin brother, David Thompson, a sister, Mary Nowaczyk and by his mother-in-law, Pearl Dickenson. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hopevale Church, (corner of Tittabawassee & Center Roads). Pastor Dan Davis will officiate. Honoring Mr. Thompson’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at Hopevale Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
