Thomas, Clifford L. "Kip", Saginaw, Michigan

After a lengthy illness, Cliff Thomas passed away peacefully on Friday morning April 20, 2012, age 84. Cliff was born July 11, 1927, the son of Clifford Vincent and Alice Spencer Thomas. He was raised in Saginaw, attended Banner Elementary School, Webber Junior High, and graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1945. He was a star athlete in track and field. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Asiatic Theater. He later joined his family's business, Evans and Thomas Heating and Plumbing. He enjoyed his career as a plumbing contractor. Cliff married Sally Ann McLaughlin on May 9, 1953, she survives him. Together they had four children, Mary (John) Dersch of Grand Rapids, Dr. Clifford "Kip" (Marjorie) Thomas of Westlake, Ohio, Angela Thomas of Saginaw and Christopher Thomas of New York City. His grandchildren number four: Joshua (Kris) Dersch, Benjamin Thomas, Jacob Dersch, and Erin Thomas. Cliff is also survived by his brother Leonard Thomas of Saginaw as well as sisters and brothers-in-law, Thomas McLaughlin, Mary (Jerry) Lawler, Mary McLaughlin and Kathy Strohmaier. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. As per his wishes there will be no services planned. Those wishing to express their sympathy may wish to consider the Salvation Army or a charity of their choice.
