Strongrich, Andrew L., Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012. Age 83 years. The son of the late Peter and Fern (Paulus) Strongrich was born July 25, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from SS Peter and Paul High School where he was an All-State basketball player. He attended Mt. Pleasant College and later transferred to Bay City Junior college where he graduated. He married Dany Smelley, July 9, 1948. She survives him. He had been employed by General Motors as a Plant Manager with Saginaw Steering Gear and later transferred to a new plant in Alabama. He retired with over 30 years of service. He was very active in sports with his sons. Andy was involved in developing Rudy Zaul Little League Park, Saginaw Twp. Andy was active in Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts and was a member and had served as President of the Hemlock Lions Club. Surviving besides his wife, Dany, are four children and their spouses, Debbie and Ron Pretzer, Hemlock, MI; Andra Duran, Saginaw, MI; Peter and Kamela Strongrich, DeWitt, MI; Steven and Catherine Strongrich, Saginaw, MI; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Pretzer, a brother, Harold Strongrich; several nieces and nephews. A sister, Beverly DeSander has predeceased him. The funeral service will take place on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Deacon Roger Pasionek will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until the time of the funeral service.
