Stoddard, Dallas Lee, Saginaw, Michigan


Devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at The Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 89 years. Son of the late Guy and Myrtle (Pettingill) Stoddard, Dallas was born July 14, 1923 in Davison, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Dallas married June Eileen Birney on May 24, 1947. She predeceased him October 12, 2009. Dallas retired from McDonald Dairy after 33 years of service. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Dallas was an avid fisherman and all around sportsman. Surviving are three daughters, Jeannie and Robert Harris, Burton; Judy and Dr. Dermot O’Brien, Saginaw; Janice and Roger Bellinger, Freeland; nine grandchildren, Dermot (Marianne) O’Brien II, Dara (Maurcio) Barrera, Keara O’Brien and her fiancée Evan Allardyce, Kevin (Sara) O’Brien, Bridget (Greg) Hughes, Kelly Harris, Timm (Jessica) Cappell, Todd (Amy) Cappell and Mark (Jeanette) Bellinger; 16 great-grandchildren and an angel on the way; his sister, Arlene Lutz; two brothers, Ralph (Rebecca) Stoddard, Donald ( Lee) Stoddard; four sisters-in-law, Jean Stoddard, Joyce Birney, Ginny Birney and Jean Burdo; several nieces and nephews. Dallas was preceded in death by his two sisters, Marion Huntoon, Geraldine Spangler and a brother, Robert Stoddard. Honoring Mr. Stoddard’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James Heller will officiate. Burial of cremains will take place at St. Andrew Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #439.
