Stevenson, Joan F., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Tendercare Frankenmuth. Age 90 years. The daughter of the late William and Nellie (McWilliams) Hall, Joan was born August 8, 1921 in Rochester, Victoria, Australia coming to the United States in 1946. She married Delmos Stevenson, her loving husband of 67 years, on September 8, 1944 in Australia. He survives her. Joan was a veteran of the Australian Air Force. Joan and Del looked forward to their vacations spent with their grandsons, Shane and Blair. She also enjoyed her annual travels to Australia, flower gardening and visiting with family and friends. Joan was employed at Clarissa Jane’s for many years designing hats and then Goldie’s Bridal Shop and Julienne’s Bridal Shop. Surviving besides her loving husband Del are two sons and their spouses, Colin and Sue Stevenson, Saginaw; Richard and Denise Stevenson, Freeland; two grandsons, Shane Stevenson, Blair Stevenson and his fiancée Abby Jacalone; one great-grandson, Bryce Stevenson; three sisters-in-law, Hetty Hall, Zelpha Munroe and Mary Castle; many nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by two brothers, Colin and Bill Hall. Funeral service will take place on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Douglas Kahl will officiate with interment in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
