Santoya, Samuel, Saginaw, Michigan


Sam peacefully departed his earthly life to meet his Lord and Savior on September 12, 2012. Samuel was born in Saginaw on June 12, 1959, son of Adolfo and Gaudalupe Santoya. At the age of 7, he sustained a brain injury and lost the use of his left hand and also limited use of his leg. Samuel attended Handley School and ultimately graduated from high school. He was very proud of this accomplishment. Sam was known by many and misunderstood by some. Samuel knew the Lord and HIS promise. Sam will be missed by all who loved him. His memory will be cherished by his father, Adolfo Santoya and his siblings, Sylvia Lopez, Elizabeth (Marcelo) Hernandez, Hope Henne, Adolph Santoya Jr., Carmen (Michael) Kurtenbach, David Santoya, Elena (Jon) Lazzaro, Stephen Santoya and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, Cousins and friends. Samuel was predeceased by his mother, Guadalupe Santoya, his brother, Robert Santoya and a sister, Eleanor Santoya. Funeral service will take place on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Frank Voris officiating. Interment will take place at Mt Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave., on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home. Visitation continues at the Church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials can be made to the Family.
