Sanburn, Robert, Saginaw, Michigan


Passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012, at the Saginaw Senior Care & Rehab Center. Age 86 years. Mr. Sanburn was born on September 22, 1925, in Roseville, MI, to the late Edward and Frances (Hartner) Sanburn. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Robert married Rosemary Near on April 15, 1967, in Saginaw, where she survives him. Prior to his retirement in 1986, Robert was employed as an inspector at Saginaw Steering Gear for 25 years. Surviving besides his wife, Rosemary, are his two sons, Brad (Roselle) Sanburn, Bridgeport, MI; Mark (Kathy) Sanburn, Fairgrove, MI; daughter, Connie (Dan) Losano, Saginaw; six grandchildren, Mark J. (Jill) Sanburn, Carthage, TN, Cindy (Robert) Watson, Lansing, MI; Beth Ann Sanburn, Carthage, TN; Jeff (Donna) Reed, Michelle Reed and Melissa Reed, Saginaw, MI; thirteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Edward, Richard, Donald and Howard Sanburn. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss. The Rev. Charles F. Buckhahn will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens where Military Honor Guard will be conducted under the auspices of VFW Zilwaukee-Carrollton Post 1859. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m., then at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Southern Care Hospice.
