Russell, Tony, Saginaw, MI, Formerly of Gladwin, Michigan

Passed away unexpectedly at his home September 11, 2012. Tony was born February 5, 1959 in England. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He married Ann P. Hartley on May 14, 1994, and she survives him. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, has worked as a reserve Sheriff’s deputy for both Gladwin and Clare counties, worked at Gladwin Community Mental Health, Soaring Eagle Casino, NES Worksafe, and Give’Em a Brake Safety. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, karaoke, visiting with friends and family, and being with his pets. Surviving are, his wife Ann; his children, Chris Hartley of Grand Rapids, Brittany Johnston of Saginaw, and Stefany Johnston of Grand Rapids; granddaughters, Hannah, Gracelyn, and Audrey Miller; his mother and father in law, Patricia and Leonard Medel of Bay City; his mother in law, Dianne Hartley of Midland; his brothers and sisters in law, Ellen (Greg) Thurlow of Saginaw, Mike, John, & Terry Hartley of Freeland, Tom & Jim Hartley of Saginaw, Amy (Steve) Jones of Midland, Steve (Julie) Hartley of Saginaw, and Shannon (Lorenzo) Medel of San Diego CA; many nieces and nephews; his niece Erica Wilson – Traxler of Kileen TX who is following in his footsteps by serving in the U.S. Army & stationed at Ft. Hood Texas; special friends, Pat Meade & Pamela Horneber of Auburn, and Terry & Chuck Johnson of Gladwin. He was predeceased by his father in law, Charles Hartley & special friend, Mark Horneber. Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Harvest Assembly of God, 625 S. 17th St., Saginaw MI. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Wishes of the Family.
