Ross, Norman Lee, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Age 88 years. The son of the late Freddy and Effie (Bates) Ross, Norman was born February 26, 1924 in Chetopa, Kansas. He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army 511th Parachute Infantry and was a member of American Legion Post #439. Norman married Colleen Mae Gregory on July 12, 1947. She survives him. He was employed as an electrician at Ruggle’s Electric and Hovey Electric until his retirement. Norman was a member Gladwin Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed traveling and being with his family. Surviving besides his wife Colleen are two sons and their spouses, N. John and Joyce Ross, New Lothrup; Gregory Ross and Bryan Doornbos, Caledonia; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Charleen and Robert Veal, Albany, Oregon; one brother, Virgil and Charlotte Ross, Lebanon, Oregon; many nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Waldo Ross, Milton Ross and Waneta Serban. Honoring Mr. Ross’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place along with the interment of cremains in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at a later date.
